Current Beauty Favourites: New In My Collection

There was a point when my love for makeup kind of faded and I wasn't interested in trying new products. I got really into fashion and my love for makeup was kind pushed back. I pretty much stuck to the same products and routine. Quarantine gave me lots more time to practice different makeup looks and watch more beauty videos on YouTube, IGTV and Tik Tok. Especially after watching way too many Tik Tok makeup reviews and hauls, my love for makeup grew again. That led to purchasing new products and finding some new favourites. I thought I would do a post sharing my opinions on products I've purchased over the last few months. Some are popular products and others aren't really talked about much. Just keep reading, to hear what I've been using.

Beauty Gurus I Trust

The YouTube beauty community has had its fair share of scandals over the last few years. From racist pasts surfacing and bloated egos to unacceptable quality, product releases. Despite that, we can't help but love watching makeup tutorials and beauty videos. For me personally, I find beauty videos super relaxing and therapeutic. There is something about watching someone apply makeup in ways that I'm incapable of doing, that brings me joy. Although the beauty industry is full of scandals, I have a few beauty gurus that I watch regularly and completely support. I thought I would share a few beauty gurus that I trust and believe deserve recognition.

Jasmine is an American beauty guru currently at 610K subscribers. I have been watching her consistently for about 3 years. I remember subscribing when she hit about 50K subs and it's been so amazing to watch her channel grow. One of my favourite things about Jasmine is that she always produces amazing content. She is creative with her looks whilst making them wearable. I've even re-created a couple of them. She uses a mixture of drugstore and high-end makeup which is nice. Her reviews are also really great. I trust her opinion when it comes to foundations and base products. Plus she has incredible skin.

Chloe is originally from Australia but has recently moved to LA. She is currently at 2.6M subscribers. I have been watching her for a long time. I remember finding her whilst watching a Lauren Curtis video. Her channel was suggested and I watched a few videos of hers before subscribing. I love Chloe's channel because all of her looks are super wearable and realistic. She isn't like your typical beauty influencer in the sense of applying a million layers of makeup. She is all about "your skin but better". All her looks are very much focused on enhancing your natural beauty. If you like tinted moisturisers, cream products and sultry eye looks, you'll love Chloe's makeup looks.

I have been watching Jayde since she was my age which is kind of weird. She was 18 when she started YouTube and I believe she was about to turn 20 when I started watching her channel. She is now 23. She is a UK beauty/fashion influencer with 406K subscribers and 1M Instagram followers. I love her looks because she has INCREDIBLE skin and definitely has good taste when it comes to complexion products and skin care. We have a pretty similar skin tone too so I like to use her as reference. Her usual look is quite glowy skin with a glossy or nude lip, which is definitely my favourite too.

Holly Boon is a UK beauty guru with 671K subscribers on YouTube. She is definitely more adventurous with her makeup looks. She incorporates lots of colour and detail with her eye makeup. I'm not very creative when it comes to makeup, but I love watching her tutorials. She is really talented and I find her makeup looks very original. She has just started her own cosmetics line 'HBN Cosmetics' and I definitely want to try some of her products one day. She has had great reviews so far and she uses smaller influencers to promote her products and receive PR, which I think is so great. I like that she gives smaller makeup artists a platform to show their own work and be able to work with a brand.

Sabrina is a UK beauty guru currently at 315K Subscribers on YouTube. I particularly love her one brand tutorials because she uses a range of products from brands, that may not be as hyped up as others within the community. I enjoy her makeup tutorials and reviews. All of her makeup looks are super wearable, therefore easy to re-create. She loves glowy skin (just like me) and simple eye makeup.

Charlotte is a London based beauty guru. She is a smaller YouTuber with 2.5K subscribers on YouTube and 19.4K followers on Instagram. I found her through Pinterest maybe a year ago. Her eye looks are beautiful and she has a lot of skill. I'm really surprised she doesn't have more subscribers. She is just as talented as some of the big influencers with over 500K. I trust her opinions when it comes to product recommendations. She receives PR but with her being a smaller channel, she buys a lot of her makeup with her own money. I find that makes her more trustworthy as she doesn't have the fact that half her collection was free, to cloud her judgement. I also love that she uses colour, but makes it seem so easy to use. Whenever I see people like NikkieTutorials use colour, I think "wow that's impossible!". Charlotte makes using colour seem a lot less scary.

Tammi is one of my absolute favourite people to watch. Her makeup tutorials and reviews are so informative and her talent is insane. She is another woman who loves her colour! She is another UK based beauty guru, with 147K subscribers on YouTube. She has her own eye-shadow palettes with Revolution makeup (which are on my wishlist) and she has convinced me to put so many other things on my list too. I love that she uses a mixture of luxury and affordable makeup. She even tries brands that you may not know of or much about.

So these are some beauty gurus that I trust and love. Who do you like to watch? Let me know in the comments.

Have a great day x

My Current Favourite Bloggers

The blogging community is full of creative, hardworking individuals with amazing content to show for it. Blogging is definitely not easy. Over the almost 3 years I have been doing this myself (wow 3 years.......time flies), I have definitely come to realize the hard work that goes into it. I am not a full time blogger and I've felt the stress and pressure that comes with being a writer, so I really rate those who do this as a career. There is so much more work than just writing, that you kind of need to do for yourself in order to understand. I thought I would do a little appreciation post for some of my favourite bloggers at the moment, to let them know that they're doing great AND maybe introduce you to some new blogs.

Jasmine Talks Beauty:

Jasmine Talks Beauty was one of the first Beauty blogs I became really invested in reading. Jasmine really works hard on her posts and you can see it! She posts so frequently and I have no idea how she does it. I love how her website looks too. It's so aesthetically pleasing and so easy to navigate. Everything about her blog is just so beautiful. Her photography is great and it's just light and refreshing. Before you even read anything, it just inspires you. I've come to really appreciate her advice when it comes to makeup products and beauty. Her reviews are really informative and shes always so up to date with releases. If there is a product I'm looking to buy, I pretty much wait until she posts about it.

ScarletSlippers:

I discovered Charlotte's blog through her vlog channel almost a year ago. I had been watching her university vlogs for months and one day I saw in her description that she had a blog. Of course I checked it out because I'm always looking for new blogs to read and be inspired by. Charlotte's blog is one of my favourites simply because of how relate-able she is. We're only a year a part in age and I guess that makes her personal posts a little easier to relate to. She is such a lovely girl and I would love to meet her one day. She just seems extremely genuine and fun to be around. You can tell that she puts a lot of effort into her posts and I love her photography! It was actually her who inspired me to do a bucket list page. I've always had my bucket list but I never thought to share it, so thanks Charlotte!

Lauren Victoria:

I cannot remember when or how I discovered Lauren's blog, but I'm glad I did. She has one of the prettiest looking websites and I feel like it really reflects her writing style. Like Jasmine's it is just so light and radiates happiness. I hope you'll check her out and understand what I mean. Her blog mainly focuses on Beauty but she also writes lifestyle posts too. I really enjoy her writing style as well as her photography. I would LOVE some photography tips from her because they really add something to her content.

Humaira's Corner:

OK this might be cheating a little bit because we're friends HOWEVER she would be on here regardless. I've known Humaira for as long as she has started her blog only a few months ago and she's definitely doing a better job than I did during the earlier stages. Let me tell you, one thing I didn't get right that Humaira has is consistency. I'm going to be pestering her for the secret because I'm still struggling with it. Whether it be on her blog itself or her socials, her followers always have content from her. Her posts are such a great read and she's already forming a great connection with her audience, which is super important in the blogging world. I'm proud of you sis!

The Macaron Girl Travels:

As you can tell from the name, this is a travel blog. The owner of the site is called Timi. I'm quite jealous of her to say the least. She has been to some of the most BEAUTIFUL countries. Her photography is outstanding and every post makes me want to travel. Her blog style focuses more on photography but with short almost diary like writing to go with it. She goes through some of the best things to do and places to go in each destination. I love that she has a little map on the side bar so you can see her next journey. It's super cute. If you're not already itching to see the world, follow her blog and Instagram.

Lavender Vines:

Lavender Vines is a Christian Blog created by a lovely woman called Tiffany. I discovered her blog very recently and I've been LOVING it. I'm currently doing a 21 day fast and her blog posts have really inspired me to make more time for God in 2019. In fact, make him the centre of everything. I love how real she is and you can tell she is such a loving person just through her writing. I actually found her blog through Instagram, as I was looking for more Christians to follow. I'm so glad I came across her blog and I feel like it was the perfect timing.

So these are some of my current favourite bloggers. I read SO MANY blogs so I will definitely be doing more posts like this in the future. I think it is so important to show appreciation for people's hard work.

I hope you enjoyed this post and found some new blogs to read this year!

Thanks for reading,
